But she refuses to apply any pressure, saying: "No, he's not popped the question yet.

"Is he any closer? I don't know, you'll have to ask him! He says I am difficult to surprise so I don't even bring it up.

"It's a massive thing for guys. I don't want to ruin his big moment.

"It was a while ago we were looking so maybe he is saving up to get me a really big one!" she teased.

She says it does care tiresome fending off speculation they are set to split.

"I get that there's no smoke without fire sometimes, but sometimes you read things and say 'that's just not true!'" she told us.

"I always wonder where they come from, did somebody actually ring that newspaper and say that?

"I'm quite tough skinned thankfully, so it doesn't really bother me so much."

Laura can't wait for the new series of Love Island - and has offered some tips to those flying into the villa.

The Scottish star said: "I've watched it every year - before I went on and after. You have to!

"My advice would be.... brace yourself! I just think you need to be open minded and to enjoy every second.

"Also, don't take yourself too seriously. I think I maybe took myself a little too seriously, and it's quite an emotional rollercoaster. I really got wrapped up in the relationships I was in.

"Maybe be a bit selfish, have a bit of fun - the serious side always comes when you fall for someone.

"Just try and have fun with the girls and the guys in a friendship sense, see what naturally comes.

"It'll be go go go once you get those feels so don't try and force anything."

She added: "Try and be authentic. It's such a successful show and people do go on there for different reasons, maybe not love.

"I really feel you will do better for your career if you are genuine."
