Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Winger's sale 'inevitable', star's future decided in summer

With under two months of the season remaining, all eyes are on the summer.

Will this be the transfer window where Spurs finally make some signings? There will no doubt be some opportunity to spend but will Daniel Levy provide Mauricio Pochettino with the backing that he deserves?

There have been a number of rumours around stars Tottenham have been linked with in recent months, and potentially some positive news. Of course there are always whispers of a departure too.

To help you try and keep up with all the latest players linked with a move to the Lilywhites this summer, and those who could leave, these are today's biggest Spurs transfer stories and rumours.

What Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has said about Tottenham's new stadium

Ivan Perisic

Inter Milan are set to sell Spurs target Ivan Perisic in the summer transfer window.

The 30-year-old has been linked with an exit for some time now, with Manchester United particularly keen on the Croatia international last summer under Jose Mourinho’s guidance, and Spurs are said to be keeping an eye on his situation should an opportunity arise.

Now  Calciomercato  state that a sale is “inevitable” in the summer, as the club eye an overhaul. Manager Luciano Spalletti is likely to leave, with Antonio Conte rumoured to replace him, as he hopes to bring in Edin Dzeko from Roma and Ivan Rakitic from Barcelona.

To help finance this, Perisic will leave as they state that his head has been “elsewhere for months now”.

Nicolo Zaniolo

There has reportedly been a break in talks between Roma and young player Nicolo Zaniolo over a contract extension.

The 19-year-old is one of the hottest properties in European football, having joined the Serie A side from Inter Milan, as part of the deal that took Radja Nainggolan to San Siro.

After a series of impressive displays, talks started over a new deal for the midfielder, who made his debut for Italy in the recent international break. However, following the departure of sporting director Monchi for Sevilla, talks have stopped over a new deal, according to  Calciomercato , due to the confusion at the club over new roles for staff.

They state that talks could continue in mid-April, when the likelihood of Champions League qualification becomes clearer, and thus what their budget may be for next year. Roma are currently seventh in Serie A following two defeats in a row, but still only four points shy of the Champions League places.

Arsenal and Spurs are among teams that have been linked with Zaniolo in the past, and the likes of Juventus and Real Madrid are also said to be monitoring the situation.

Gareth Bale

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane says that Gareth Bale’s future will be decided at the end of the season.

Bale has won the Champions League four times since joining Madrid in 2013, but stories have persisted in recent months about his time in the Spanish capital coming to an end following a spate of injuries, with fans yet to be fully won over by the Welsh attacker.

Zidane told reporters that his team will be reliant on the 29-year-old over the rest of the season, but after that there are no promises, with Bale linked to both Manchester United and also a possible return to Spurs.

"Gareth is an important member of the squad. We know what he has done here, even in Champions League finals.

"Nobody can take away what he has done. We know he can bring a lot to the team, and we will count on him.

"We are going to play these games, and then we will see. That does not mean that, afterwards, there will be changes".

Toby Alderweireld

Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Toby Alderweireld from Spurs in the summer.

The 30-year-old can leave north London at the end of the season for a fee of €30m after Spurs took up their option in January to extend his deal by a year after talks on a new contract faltered, with the centre-back reportedly requesting a pay increase of nearly triple his current £53,000-per-week wage, according to the  Times .

Spurs refused those advances, and look set to lose the Belgian defender with Manchester United and Juventus both reportedly hoping to sign him.
