Latest Tottenham transfer rumours: Spurs 'determined' to sign midfielder, huge Eriksen offer

There is under a week left in the transfer window - and Tottenham are reportedly still hoping to complete a few more deals.

Spurs have already signed Jack Clarke from Leeds United and Tanguy Ndombele in a club record move from Lyon, but the Lilywhites continue to be linked with a number of other players as well.

As such, there could still be several incomings and outgoings.

Below, we take a look at the latest transfer rumours involving players who could arrive - and leave.

Christian Eriksen

Spurs are reportedly still hopeful of persuading Christian Eriksen to sign a new deal in north London.

The Premier League side have been chasing both Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso and Sporting Lisbon captain Bruno Fernandes as potential options should Eriksen leave the club.

The Danish playmaker has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but a deal this summer is looking unlikely, according to the  Mail . Real coach Zinedine Zidane has prioritised a move for Paul Pogba, and the club are apparently looking at Donny van de Beek as an alternative should Pogba be too costly to procure.

With just a year left on his current deal, Spurs are hopeful of persuading Eriksen to sign a new contract, rather than lose him on a free transfer next summer, and are willing to more than double his current £80,000-per-week deal.

However, talks are now apparently hinging on a potential release clause in any new contract.

Giovani Lo Celso/Bruno Fernandes

Spurs are reportedly determined to add at least one of Giovani Lo Celso or Bruno Fernandes before the transfer deadline day on Thursday.

The club are apparently wary that they may be forced to sell Christian Eriksen after the English transfer window closes, with just a year remaining on his current contract.

According to the  Standard , talks are ongoing with both Sporting Lisbon and Real Betis over the possibility of sealing deals in the next week for Lo Celso and Fernandes, but the Premier League side will not sign both players.

Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly "given the green light" to the signing of Fernandes.

The  Mail  state that the Argentine manager has identified Lo Celso as his preferred target, but after talks with Sporting on Friday about a deal for Fernandes, Pochettino has given his blessing on a move.

Spurs are said to have had an initial offer of around £40m for Fernandes rejected so far.

Ryan Sessegnon

Spurs are reportedly set to close a deal to sign Fulham left-back Ryan Sessegnon for £30m.

According to the  Mail , negotiations between the two London sides are in their final stages, with the £30m fee close to being agreed.

Spurs are said to have increased their efforts to add players to the squad following Mauricio Pochettino’s public frustrations about the lack of activity, in which he claimed his job title should be changed.
