Tanganga, Kane and Son - Latest Tottenham injury news ahead of Man United

Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a fresh injury blow ahead of Friday's game against Manchester United.

Youngster Japhet Tanganga has reportedly been ruled out of Spurs' restart to the Premier League season with a stress fracture to his back.

The Telegraph claim there is hope that the defender will play before the end of the season and he has been placed on a fitness programme that will not aggravate his back even further.

Tanganga's setback is the latest in a long line of injuries Jose Mourinho has had to contend with, although the three-month break did a great job of nursing players back to full fitness.

Without Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko due to respective hamstring and knee injuries sustained on New Year's Day in the defeat at Southampton, Son Heung-min joined them on the sidelines a month later after fracturing his arm at Aston Villa.

It was to then get even worse for the head coach prior to the crucial Champions League Round of 16 second leg clash against RB Leipzig as Steven Bergwijn limped off with an ankle injury at the end of Spurs' draw at Burnley.

But how are things now looking for the Lilywhites three months on from their last game?

Harry Kane

Many fans feared the worst when Kane was substituted off at Southampton in January with a hamstring injury.

As well as doubts over when exactly he would return for Spurs, many raised questions over his place in the England squad for Euro 2020.

Stepping up his recovery in March by returning to the pitch at Hotspur Way and training away from his teammates, the current break in play has allowed him to return to full fitness without having to miss matches in the process.

Kane has been training and playing alongside his teammates in recent weeks and is good to go.

Moussa Sissoko

The Frenchman had to go under the knife at the start of the year due to the knee injury he sustained at Southampton.

Sissoko handed Spurs a boost by returning to training ahead of the Manchester United game but he has yet to play as football was put on hold in the lead up to that fixture.

He's another player who is back to full fitness and ready to go.

Son Heung-min

Son used the break from football to return to South Korea to complete his military service.

The attacker has fully recovered from his fractured arm and he is fully fit for the Premier League restart.

Steven Bergwijn

Mourinho feared that the January signing would miss the rest of the season due to the ankle issue he picked up at Burnley.

However, the pause in play now means that he will be fit to return for their next league game after fully recovering from the injury.

Dele Alli

One player Mourinho will definitely be without is Alli after he was handed a one-match ban.

The FA finally delivered their verdict on his video about the coronavirus that went viral in March and he will subsequently miss out against United.

The 24-year-old will be back for Spurs' home match against West Ham four days later.

Giovani Lo Celso

It remains to be seen if Lo Celso will feature against Manchester United amid injury fears over the Argentine international.

The classy midfielder was absent for last week's training game at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and it sparked rumours that he is carrying an injury at present.

Lo Celso has been spotted on the training pitch this week but he was not photographed alongside the main group at Hotspur Way.

All eyes will be on the team's friendly matches against Norwich City and Reading to see if he features.

Davinson Sanchez

Sanchez hadn't been spotted in Tottenham's training photos recently and he also missed the training match last week.

But he featured in the 2-1 defeat against Norwich City, which would suggest he is raring to go.
