Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Willian deal unlikely, Abraham contract concern, Ampadu wanted

The future of the remainder of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign remains in limbo after the season was plunged into doubt on Friday with the news that all fixtures in England's top four tiers have been postponed until April 3 at the earliest.

This decision has been made due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, which is showing no sign of easing any time soon.

The virus is currently causing havoc and chaos across the globe and the Premier League has been hit as a result.

But even though it feels incredibly odd not to have any football matches taking place at this time of the year, the correct decision has been made, with the health of the UK's population having to come first.

Coronavirus cases: The spread outside China

Though this situation is far from ideal, this period of no on-field action taking place could hand Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard, who has not been able to put his own stamp on the squad at Stamford Bridge since his arrival last summer, the chance to try and set out some plans for the upcoming summer transfer window, as he looks to build on the signing of Hakim Ziyech, who will arrive from Ajax this summer.

With that in mind, here is a round-up of the very latest Chelsea transfer news.

No Abraham talks

Chelsea have yet to enter discussions with striker Tammy Abraham about the possibility of him extending his contract at Stamford Bridge, a report from The Athletic has revealed.

After being out on loan in the Championship last season, questions were asked about how Abraham would perform at a higher level.

But the England international has quashed any doubts that anyone might have had, scoring 13 times in the Premier League this season.

His form has led to speculation about a wage increase at Stamford Bridge, with the striker asking for a wage of £120,000-a-week, which could rise to £180,000-a-week with add-ons.

Willian 'unlikely' to pen new Blues deal

The Athletic are also reporting that winger Willian is "increasingly unlikely" to sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues winger, who has been strutting his stuff in the Premier League since 2013, is out-of-contract at the end of this current season and appears to have no plans of signing a new deal.

Willian, despite being at the age of 30-years-old, was only willing to entertain the option of a new three-year deal, whilst Chelsea were only happy to offer him a two-year option.

A host of clubs are believed to be weighing up summer moves for him, including the likes of Arsenal and Juventus.

Blues braced for Ampadu interest

AC Milan are set to make a move for Blues centre-back Ethan Ampadu this summer, should former RB Leipzig manager Ralf Rangnick take over at the Italian club, report Sport Witness.

Welshman Ampadu is currently out on loan at Leipzig, for whom he has made seven appearances for since joining last July.

Though his opportunities to impress have been limited, he has made a good impression when called upon.

And it is those types of displays that have led to interest in him ahead of the summer, with Rangnick possibly set to take over in Milan.
