Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Star hints at summer departure, £31.4million decision made

The countdown to the summer transfer window is now on, with Chelsea needing to assess their squad and potential business carefully in the coming months.

The Blues were banned from registering players for a year after they were found guilty of breaking rules into the signing of youth players, something that Chelsea deny.

The appealed the decision but FIFA have already stated that the Blues will not be allowed to register players this summer and their request to delay the ban has been denied.

While the west London side have been left to consider their next steps, there are still a number of transfer links for the Blues to deal with, and still plenty of players who could leave, which could mean trouble at Stamford Bridge.

The next steps for five members of Chelsea's 'Loan Army' who are being tipped for bright futures

Gonzalo Higuain

Chelsea are unconvinced by Gonzalo Higuain’s form since January and could opt against signing him permanently or extending his loan deal in the summer, according to the Daily Mirror .

The Blues have the option of extending the loan for another 12 months for a fee of €18million (£15.7million). Or they could buy the Argentine on a permanent basis for a fee of €36million (£31.4million) which would have to be paid over two years should he move be a success.

However, it would appear that the striker is poised for a return to Juventus.

Olivier Giroud

With the transfer ban and uncertainly of the prospects of Higuain, Olivier Giroud's future becomes all the more important.

The World Cup winner has barely had a chance in the Premier League this season but has made light work of his chances in Europe bagging nine goals in as many games, as well as two assists.

The 32-year-old doesn't seem to happy with his lot since the arrival of Higuain.

His comments seem to hint at his dissatisfaction with how it is working out with Sarri.

"Of course it is frustrating. I feel like there is no competition since January," he said.

"It is like that, I know that I will only play in the Europa League and I will try to do everything I can to be as effective and decisive as possible for the team."

Giroud also suggest that his future could lie elsewhere at the end of the season and the playing time is his primary concern.

"The future could be hectic this summer," he admitted.

"I am not scared of going down a level to have more playing time. It could be that I end my career in France."

Callum Hudson-Odoi

If there wasn't enough interest in Chelsea's premiere youngster already, there certainly seems to be now.

The 18-year-old has received his first call up to the senior England squad but will only have 12 months on his current deal come the summer. More than Bayern Munich are now taking notice.

The incredible record that suggests Chelsea will win big only if they sack Maurizio Sarri

The Telegraph believe that Borussia Dortmund could enter the race and start a bidding war with their German rivals for Hudson-Odoi. The Bundesliga side hope to tempt the 18-year-old with how they have developed Jadon Sancho into a first team star this season, but their move may hinge on whether Sancho leaves for pastures new.

Reports in Germany also suggest that Liverpool are looking to prise away one of the Blues' prized assets. It is thought the Reds were reluctant to enter any kind of bidding war in January but they have retained their interest and could look to make the signing.

Nevertheless it is believe that Hudson-Odoi still has his mind set on a move to Munich after he handed in a transfer request earlier this season in an attempt to push a deal with the Bavarian team.
