Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Jorginho exit, surprise £10m Forster bid, Kepa ultimatum

Chelsea are just a week away from returning after more than three months with their first Premier League game back set for next Sunday when they take on Aston Villa.

The Blues will look to secure their top-four finish when they do restart, but Frank Lampard knows he must also begin preparations for next season when Chelsea will look to close the gap on top spot and make their way back towards title contention.

The coronavirus shutdown has given clubs plenty of time to identify potential transfer targets for what could be an intriguing summer transfer window at Stamford Bridge and beyond.

Deloitte predicts Premier League clubs will lose £1bn revenue this season

Here we have the latest transfer gossip surrounding the Blues.

Chelsea to make Forster bid

Chelsea are being tipped to make a move for Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

According to Football Insider, the Blues could bid £10m for the English stopper as they look to strengthen the goalkeeping position.

Current back-up keeper Willy Caballero has just a year left on his contract, and Forster could take over the mantle with Kepa possible remaining number one - more on that later.

Celtic, where Forster has spent this season on loan, are also said to be interested in offering the 32-year-old a permanent move, but Chelsea could well become favourites with a £10m bid.

Kepa on trial

Chelsea number one Kepa Arrizabalaga has nine games to save his Blues career.

According to The Telegraph, the Spaniard has the remainder of this season to convince Lampard he does not need to be replaced.

The report suggests Burnley's Nick Pope and Ajax stopper Andre Onana are being lined up to potentially replace Kepa, who arrived from Athletic Club on a £71.6m deal in 2018.

Kepa is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2025.

Jorginho move unlikely

Chelsea star Jorginho has been linked with a move back to Italy to reunite with former Blues and Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri.

On the face of it, that rumour seemed pretty plausible, but a potential deal now looks unlikely.

That's because The Athletic report Jorginho and Sarri have not communicated in around a year.

The report claims since Sarri left, the two haven't spoken and Jorginho is intent on proving Blues fans wrong by impressing under Lampard having 'fallen in love' with London life.
