Latest Chelsea transfer rumours: Blues lead race for Serie A ace, demands made on two loan stars

The countdown to the summer transfer window is now on, with Chelsea needing to assess their squad and potential business carefully in the coming months.

The Blues were banned from registering players for two transfer windows after they were found guilty of breaking rules into the signing of youth players, something that Chelsea deny.

FIFA have already stated that the Blues will not be allowed to register players this summer and their request to delay the ban has been denied.

Chelsea's appeal to FIFA is currently being heard, and could potentially mean they are able to buy players this summer, even if the ban is eventually upheld.

While the west London side have been left to consider their next steps, there are still a number of transfer links for the Blues to deal with, and still plenty of players who could leave, which could mean trouble at Stamford Bridge.

Lorenzo Insigne

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed his club will not be signing Lorenzo Insigne from Napoli this summer.

The 27-year-old has been linked with both Liverpool and Chelsea in the summer, and is said to prefer a move to London.

Maurizio Sarri has reportedly targeted Insigne should the Blues be allowed to make transfers this summer, and Klopp has told reporters in his press conference that Liverpool will not be in the race to sign the attacker.

"We will not sign Lorenzo Insigne. He has got a long-term contract in Naples. He is a very good player but we will not be signing him."

Kenedy

Newcastle United are reportedly unlikely to pursue a deal for Kenedy in the summer, because parent-club Chelsea are asking for £30m to seal a permanent deal.

The Brazilian is in his second spell on loan at St. James’ Park, but club chiefs were unable to secure a full transfer last summer, instead opting for a short-term deal.

But after a disappointing season so far, Chelsea are still quoting a £30m fee for the 23-year-old, and so Newcastle will not be looking to complete a transfer at the end of the season, according to the Chronicle.

The left-sided player has not started a game since Boxing Day, and Rafa Benitez is set to look at other options in the transfer window.

Eden Hazard

The Sun report that Real Madrid will offer Eden Hazard £400,000 after taxes to join the club.

The report suggests the Blues would accept a £100m bid for their talisman and that Hazard’s representatives are already in talks with Los Blancos about relocation.

Kurt Zouma

Reports suggest the Blues will demand Kurt Zouma returns to the club this summer after the defender had been linked with a permanent move to Everton.

The decision has apparently been forced upon the club by the transfer ban, so his future looks set to be dependent on FIFA's upcoming ruling.

He could be one of 10 options to transform Maurizio Sarri’s squad.
