The Premier League season is now just over three weeks away from starting, as Arsenal prepare for their first full season under the tutelage of Mikel Arteta.
The Gunners are in competitive action next weekend, though, as they face Premier League champions Liverpool in the Community Shield.
It seems like Arteta is trying to push through one or two deals before the pair meet at Wembley Stadium.
With that being said, here are the very latest Arsenal-related transfer rumours from today.
Gunners on brink of completing Gabriel signing
Arsenal are close to completing the signing of Gabriel Magalhaes, with Manchester United now stalling despite a late push for the Lille defender.
United got in contact with Gabriel’s representatives late last week, just as the Gunners grew confident of landing the defender.
However, the Independent are reporting that while United continue to try and delay the deal, they are now set to miss out on the Brazilian defender.
Arsenal have now agreed a five-year deal with the 22-year-old, and he is expected to become the Gunners’ third summer signing.
Ceballos likely to stay with Gunners
Dani Ceballos could spend next season at Arsenal despite his loan spell with the Gunners coming to end earlier this month.
That’s according to Spanish publication Sport, via Sport Witness, who report that Ceballos is “most likely” set to stay for another year at the Emirates Stadium.
The report says “another year” which may indicate another loan spell for the Real Madrid midfielder, rather than a permanent deal.
Under Arteta, Ceballos really shone and it seems as if the Gunners are keen to retain his services next season.
Napoli in talks with Sokratis
Arsenal have received a big boost in their race to sign Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes with Sokratis in talks with Sokratis.
Italian journalist Nicolo Shira, via the Daily Star, says that the Greek defender could be leaving the Emirates in the next few weeks.
Napoli have already opened talks with Sokratis, who wants a three-year deal in Naples.
Sokratis has been at Arsenal since moving from Borussia Dortmund back in the summer of 2018 for £17.6million.
