Turn back time

The bash: 2022 has seen Adidas team up with Gucci, Jacquemus design with Nike and Manolo Blahnik make a pair of Birkenstocks – but no collaboration has gripped London more so than Kate Moss and Diet Coke. At the fizzy drink’s 40th birthday last night, a Nineties style rager proved why.

The crowd: Put simply, the usual suspects were spotted at Mayfair member’s club Annabel’s. The Moss set is solid, counting DJ Fat Tony on the decks, girlfriends Jess Morris, of the Rockins fashion label, and Katy England, the stylist, on either arm, and her model BFF Jordan Barrett close by.

The looks: Moss was the moment. Her cowl neck, transparent and crystal embellished frock revealing black underwear was sourced from Turner Vintage and appeared to be nod to her infamous outing in 1993, when she wore a silver slip dress that became see-through with flash photography. It marked a shift from the boho-chic style she adopted since launching her wellness brand Cosmoss in September.

The lowdown: After the party warmed up, plenty of fresh faces joined the fray. Madonna’s son Rocco Ritchie was there in a smart, double breasted tweed suit, while Princess Maria-Olympia of Greece and Denmark and Ella Richards cuddled up on the dancefloor. Revelling continued to the early hours, before Moss was spotted leaving arm in arm with the newly-married Tish Weinstock.

Usher on wheels

The bash: Introducing London’s Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace. The roller skating rink was launched by Ian ‘Flipper’ Ross in West Hollywood in the late Seventies, was revived this summer at New York’s Rockefeller Center and now has a home in White City. It swung open it’s West London doors on Wednesday night.

The crowd: A-list Americans came out in force. OMG singer Usher made an epic entrance as he skated with friends (and light up wheels) en masse down the road and onto the pink carpet. Singer Mary J. Blige also attended, joining familiar Londoners Charlotte Tilbury, Mia Regan and Joy Crookes.

The looks: Not only did Usher roll up in high style, he also opted for an head-to-toe outfit change. He arrived in a grey tracksuit and oversized fleece jacket, before slipping into an all-black ‘fit including a low cut vest top and shearling coat. Meanwhile, Lady Mary Charteris nailed the brief with a retro style fuchsia, cut-out catsuit by Silvia Astore, and gold boots.

The lowdown: After a few drinks, over-confident guests took to the disco-lit roller rink – some performing better than others. Those less impressive slowly retreated, allowing for the pros to wing around backwards and dance the night away on wheels.

Astore’s Angels

Ciinderella Balthazar, Amber Le Bon, Zara Martin, Silvia Astore, Annie Doble, Jessica Giradi, Natalie Salmon and Hana Martin attend Silvia Astore's Opium Collection Launch Dinner at House of Koko (Dave Benett)

The bash: Gunning for the best dressed dinner of the week was Silvia Astore, the Italian designer known for her corset mini dresses and power catsuits. On Tuesday night she hosted a soirée at House of Koko, Camden, celebrating her latest collection.

The crowd: Astore dresses London’s fashion girls, and they were out in force to support. Annie Doble, who stocks the designer in her Annie’s Ibiza boutique, attended alongside models Amber Le Bon and Hana Martin.

The looks: In one group picture, a crowd fully clad by Astore might well have been a campaign shot. The best dressed pair were the designer and Tigerlily Taylor, daughter of Queen drummer Roger, however, who were twinning in cropped, copper button tuxedos.

The lowdown: After mingling over Casa Amigos cocktail, the girls took their seats for supper which included wood fired squash and “naughty triple cooked chunky chips”, before cars arrived to whizz guests home. It was only Tuesday, after all.
