Last-gasp NRL grand final try sees Roosters go back to back, as it happened

The Sydney Roosters are the first team to win consecutive NRL premierships since 1993, beating the Canberra Raiders 14-8 in a gripping grand final.

The 72nd-minute game winner was scored by James Tedesco on the back of a controversially overturned six-again call against the Raiders, which saw Clive Churchill medallist Jack Wighton take a tackle and turn the ball over, despite referee Ben Cummins having signalled a repeat set only to overrule the call unbeknownst to the Raiders.

Earlier, Roosters half-back Cooper Cronk was controversially sin-binned in the 50th minute for tackling Josh Papalii just before he received the ball, but the 12-man Roosters were able to weather a rampaging Raiders side that only managed two second-half points.
