In 2002, Lucchino joined the Boston Red Sox ownership group, spearheading the decision to renovate Fenway Park rather than replace it. With the hiring of Theo Epstein as general manager, the Red Sox ended an 86-year championship drought and went on to win multiple World Series titles.
