Almost 3,000 homes in Malahide left in the dark following power outage

Almost 3,000 homes in Malahide have been left in the dark this evening following a power outage in the area.

According to ESB Networks, 2,884 homes in the north Dublin village has been left without electricity due to the fault.

Residents in the Seabury and Ard na Mara areas have been affected by the outage.

ESB Networks say they are working to resolve the issue and hope to have the power restored later this evening.

A statement on the Powercheck website reads: "We apologise for the loss of supply.

"We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible.
