Large emergency response as woman dies at house in Bishopston

Police and paramedics descended on a quiet residential road in Bishopston last night.

Three ambulances, two police cars and a major incident unit attended a private address on Seymour Road, at approximately 8:16pm on Thursday, July 18.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police reported the force was called to a 'medical emergency'.

He confirmed a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious and the case has now be handed to the coroner.

A spokesperson for South Western Ambulance Service said: "We attended an incident at a private address in the area Bishopston of Bristol following a call at 8.16pm."

After spotting the flashing blue lights, a concerned resident, who wished not to be named, contacted Bristol Live.

He said: "A major incident seemed to have occurred on a normally quiet road in Bishopston this evening," and described seeing "a stream of ambulances and incident response units".
