Lanarkshire road shut for next two weeks for electrical fault work

Drivers in Monklands are again facing major disruption as more roads are to be closed for repairs.

The B753 Calder Street (westbound) in Coatbridge, from Caldeen Road to the A725 Whifflet Street, is closed until March 10.

This is for fault work by Scottish Power and the latter two roads and the A725 Coatbank Street are alternative routes for motorists.

Elsewhere, Plains’ Ballochney Road will close for five days from March 2 to allow for carriageway drainage works.

This will apply between Arondale Road and Heatheryford Gardens.

The latter road, Meadowfield Road, the A89 Main Street, Learigg Road and Arburckle Road will be on offer as diverted routes for motorists.

Finally, an Airdrie road will be closed for seven-and-a-half hours on Friday, March 4.

Armour Avenue is shutting between McKenna Drive and South Robertson Place, from 9.30am to 6pm, for manhole works by Scottish Water.

McKenna Drive, Mulvey Crescent and the A8010 Aitchison Street will be available as diversions.
