Lanarkshire cops launch appeal after cyclist rushed to hospital following early morning crash on busy bypass

Police are appealing for information after a cyclist was hospitalised following a collision with a Transit van.

The crash happened at Carmunnock Bypass between East Kilbride and Castlemilk yesterday, Wednesday, November 30.

At approximately 6.50am, a white Ford Transit type van and a cyclist collided on the roadway whilst travelling in the direction of Castlemilk.

Officers are now appealing for anyone with dash-cam footage or witnessed the accident to get in touch.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Sgt. Gary Mackie told Lanarkshire Live : “We are keen to speak to anyone who either witnessed the scene or may have dash cam footage whilst traveling at the material time."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101.
