Ladakh road accident: Malappuram native among seven killed

KOZHIKODE: An Indian Army soldier hailing from Parappanangadi in Malappuram is among the seven soldiers who lost their lives after the army vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell in Shyok River in Ladakh on Friday.

Malappuram district authorities said that Muhammed Saijal T, 41, son of Thacholi Koyakutty and Puthiyakath Suhara, is among the deceased. He was serving as lance havildar in the Army.

Family sources said that Saijal had come home on leave home two months ago. He is survived by wife Rahmath and three children, Fathima Sanha, Thansil and Fathima Mahasa.

According to reports, the accident took place in the Tuktuk sector at around 9am at a place, which is around 25km from Thoise in the Nubra region of Leh district.
