Labour MP's brutal takedown of Theresa May's Brexit strategy

A Labour MP has begged the Prime Minister to reconsider her approach to Brexit during a brutal question during PMQs.

Newcastle Central MP Chi Onwurah challenged Theresa May ans asked her if she had paused to think if she was making a "terrible mistake"

Ms Onwurah said: "Newcastle voted 50.7% 49.3 to Remain. It divided our city and I was determined we should not have to vote again.

"But this is a complete shambles: parliament gridlocked, government paralysed, businesses stalled, jobs lost, households stockpiling, our global reputation trashed and a Prime Minister incapable of holding her cabinet together - never mind the country.

"Will she not consider the possibility that she is making a terrible mistake?"

It came as Jeremy Corbyn today blasted Theresa May as "unable to govern" in a furious PMQs attack over Brexit

Labour's leader branded the stubborn PM "paralysed" as she refused to abandon her twice-defeated Brexit deal.

MPs have taken matters out of the PM's hands and will hold "indicative votes" tonight on where next for Brexit.

Yet Theresa May has suggested she will not comply with the result - and will instead keep pushing her own plan.

Today she told MPs she may bring back her deal for a THIRD vote tomorrow or Friday after Tory rebels started to crack.

Meanwhile despite a delay, the UK is on course for a no deal Brexit on April 12 - unless Mrs May finds a deal, leaves with No Deal, revokes Article 50 or agrees a new "long" delay.

Mr Corbyn said homelessness, knife crime, and cuts-hit public services have all been "neglected" amid the chaos.

"This country is on hold while the government is in complete paralysis," he said.

"The Prime Minister is failing to deliver Brexit because she can’t build a consensus."
