Labour delete Passover tweet after people noticed an embarrassing problem

The Labour Party deleted a tweet wishing Jewish followers a happy Passover after people noticed an embarrassing problem.

The party sent out the message along with an image which read "Happy Passover from everyone at the Labour Party".

The image featured a Star of David, a wine chalice and a loaf of bread.

But followers quickly pointed out that one of the major parts of the passover celebration is the lack of bread - risen bread, anyway.

When the Pharaoh freed the Israelites, it's said they left in such a hurry they could not wait for their bread to rise.

Theresa May does a better job marshalling a 10k race than directing her MPs

To commemorate this, Jewish people eat unleavened bread - usually matzo, a flat, cracker like bread - during the Passover feast.

Of course, given the row over of anti-Semitism in the Labour party, the error upset people.

Labour deleted the tweet from their main Twitter account, but at the time of writing it still appeared on a number of regional party accounts.
