Kylie Minogue fronts major new Jimmy Choo / Jean Paul Gaultier campaign

Jimmy Choo and Jean Paul Gaultier are two revered names known for their rebellious, daring spirits, so when they decided to finally collaborate on a capsule footwear collection, they knew they had to call in an icon worthy of the moment.

Enter: Kylie Minogue. The legendary pop star has been a longtime fan of both houses, having worn many made-to-measure Gaultier looks on tour, as well as custom Jimmy Choo shoes from the label’s creative director (and Kylie’s longtime friend) Sandra Choi. So really, it was a no brainer.

‘‘Jimmy Choo is like the Gaultier of shoes - craft meets rebellion. And Kylie is more than a musician - with a rich and deep history with both houses,” says Florence Tétier, Creative Director of Jean Paul Gaultier. “When I think about design references and aesthetics, both our brands celebrate the strong female form framed through pop culture, a shared ideology that really stands out. Kylie is the embodiment of that.’’

Shot by Parisian creative Valentin Herfray and styled by Perfect Magazine founder Katie Grand, the campaign sees the the Tension singer modelling the collection in archival JPG pieces. Think metallic sling-back heels, sexy thigh-high boots adorned in the signature tattoo graphics and campy chic trompe l'oeil Perspex glass heels containing an imprint of the Eiffel Tower.

To celebrate the launch, London It-girls Iris Law, Maya Jama and FKA Twigs - all dressed in the collection - descended upon Mayfair’s latest hotspot The Twenty Two for a three course meal and a boogie.

Also in attendance was Sabrina Bahsoon AKA Tube Girl, alongside other buzzy socialites such as Olivia O’Neil, Rina Lipa and Sarah Lysander - the latter of whom stunning in a pair of their baggy fold-over, denim boots.

As Parisian DJ Fiona Zanetti sound tracked the night into the early evening, a flurry of Jimmy Choo / Jean Paul Gaultier heels could be seen dancing on the leopard print carpet. Padam Padam.
