Kylian Mbappe makes Paris Saint-Germain promise after Manchester United defeat

Kylian Mbappe has promised a reaction from Paris Saint-Germain following their defeat to Manchester United last week.

The French champions were outclassed by United in their Champions League opener as Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford struck in a 2-1 win at the Parc des Princes.

Victory for United was a huge boost for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he looks to navigate his way out of a tricky Group H in this year's competition.

United face last season's semi-finalists RB Leipzig on Wednesday night while PSG will be looking for their first points away at Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir.

Thomas Tuchel knows his side can't afford to drop anymore points if they are to keep the dreams of Champions League glory alive and Mbappe knows an emphatic response is needed this week.

“It’s not the first time that we’ve lost the first match of the group stage. We know how to react,” he told the club’s official website.

“The matches succeed each other quickly and we’ll try to win in Istanbul in order to honour the shirt and the club. All matches are important, but when you play every two or three days, it remains difficult, even if you are the biggest competitor.”
