Kyler Murray sets Cardinals’ rookie record with TD pass in loss

Arizona Cardinals rookie quarterback Kyler Murray didn’t have his best day on the field against the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, he set a record.

In the 23-17 loss to the Steelers in which he threw three interceptions, he also threw two touchdown passes.

With the second touchdown toss, a 24-yard play to running back David Johnson, he set a franchise record for touchdown passes thrown by a rookie.

It was his 16th of the season.

The record was previously held by Jake Plummer, who threw 15 touchdown passes as a rookie in 1997.

Murray has already set the rookie record for passing yards and is one win short of tying the rookie record for wins.

Through 13 games, Murray has 3,060 passing yards, 16 touchdowns an nine interceptions.
