Kyler Murray is first overall pick and first in other achievements

The Arizona Cardinals have made Oklahoma quarterback the first overall pick in the 2019 draft. It signals a new direction for the league’s worst team in 2018.

Murray is not only the first player to be selected in the draft. He happens to be the first in a number of ways.

He is the first quarterback ever under 6 feet tall to be drafted in the first round.

He is the first to have been selected in the first round of both the NFL draft and the draft for Major League Baseball.

According to NFL Research, he is the first player in the FBS to average at least 300 passing yards and at least 60 rushing yards per game.

He is not the first player to pass for at least 4,000 yards and rush for at least 1,000 yards. He is the second. Deshaun Watson, now with the Houston Texans, was the first.

Can he achieve some firsts for the Cardinals in 2019? Now we get to wait and see.
