Kyle Fuller earns spot on NFL Top 100 Players of 2019

Chicago Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller may only have four full seasons of NFL play under his belt, but his experience as a pro — both the good and the bad — extends way beyond his 62 starts and 64 games played.

Fuller’s NFL career began with a bang after the Bears selected him with the 14th overall pick of the 2014 NFL draft. The first half of his rookie season was as promising as it gets for a cornerback; he had three interceptions in his first four games.

It was a steady decline from there, however, and Fuller suddenly became a player with an uncertain future in Chicago entering the 2017 season. Poor play and injuries made him a big question mark in the secondary despite his borderline elite traits.

He proved his value in 2017 after staring all 16 games and recording two interceptions. And while his production that year wasn’t on an elite level, he was rewarded with a massive four-year, $56 million contract extension.

Fuller validated the Bears’ decision to pay him top-dollar by enjoying the best year of his career in 2018. He finished the season with a career-high and NFL-leading seven interceptions. As a result, he’s been acknowledged as one of the NFL’s top 100 players entering the 2019 season.

Fuller checked in at No. 95.
