KSI hits back at Conor McGregor's "friendly nerd" jibe with Dillon Danis threat

YouTube star KSI has blasted back at UFC legend Conor McGregor after he called the Brit a "friendly little nerd" ahead of his fight with Dillon Danis.

McGregor and Bellator MMA fighter Danis have been close friends for years since beginning to train together in 2016, but due to injuries and other issues outside of the cage, they haven't seen each other in a long time. The New York native still has his friend's support, but is not working with McGregor or his gym for his boxing debut against KSI.

And despite claiming to have no interest in YouTube boxing, McGregor waded into the KSI vs Danis feud ahead of their January 14 fight at the OVO Arena Wembley, slamming the social media star as a "friendly little nerd". He also claimed that his pal should return to MMA, where he is 2-0, as opposed to boxing the Brit next month for a massive payout.

When a fan asked McGregor why Danis was being quizzed on their friendship during a recent interview, he responded "I’m still rockin' with Dillon all the way!" However, when KSI promised to hurt Danis, McGregor brushed him aside, declaring that he had little interest in the pair's fight.

"Brother you’re a friendly little nerd I don’t care," he wrote in a scathing put-down that was viewed over 36million times. "He should be back doing MMA if he is doing this little nothing burger match with you. I couldn’t care less about this genre of boxing, I am sorry. Have a good one"

And KSI has clapped back in a new YouTube video, declaring that he is going to do some serious damage to McGregor's friend Danis. "Well, I mean, you say that, but when you see what I do to Dillon I think you're going to care, mate," KSI said in a video viewed over 2million times in just a day.

"That is so funny and yeah, bro, you cared enough to reply, so... That is so funny. Aye, I am about to f*** up Dillon Danis, man. I'm about to make a statement, I'm buzzing, bro. This is what I'm talking about. Let's go! We'll leave it at that."

During McGregor's peak as he was preparing for world title fights with the likes of Eddie Alvarez and Khabib Nurmagomedov or his grudge rematch with Nate Diaz, he and Danis were inseparable. But as they were working towards comeback fights in January of 2020, the American suffered a knee injury which has required two surgeries and cost him almost four years of his fighting career.
