KSI fans claim YouTuber drew inspiration from Bellator star MVP with KO

KSI fans have claimed his two-punch knockout of FaZe Temperr was inspired by Bellator star Michael 'Venom' Page.

YouTuber KSI - real name JJ Olatunji - was forced to take on short-notice replacement FaZe Temperrr after previous rival Dillon Danis pulled out of their scheduled Wembley Arena clash. Despite it being a new face for KSI, he dispatched his opponent in the first round, with a crisp combination sending Temperrr stumbling to the canvas.

Many fans hailed the two-punch combination that ended the clash and saw the YouTube star pick up his latest win as he continues his quest to a mega-fight with Jake Paul. Some were quick to point out that KSI's fight-winning flurry looked identical to MMA star Page's stoppage of Shinsho Anzai in December 2019.

In the video that was created by fans, the two KOs were place side-by-side, which showed KSI using the same movement with his leading left hand to circle and set up the combination. Both fighters then followed in with a straight right hand which set up a booming left through the guard as a counter-cross.

On both occasions, the fight was stopped as neither opponent was able to recover and get back on to their feet before the count. KSI has previously worked with 'MVP', who has also made the move into boxing, including in his recent bare-knuckle defeat by Mike Perry in BKFC.

After the win, KSI was delighted with his victory and is now looking to step up his level of opposition, calling out Joe Fournier or Tyron Woodley for his next test. "I said I was going to do it, round one, I knew I could do that," he said after the fight. "I’m proud of everyone on this card. I’ve always been confident in what I can do, and everyone else is finally starting to see it.

What did you make of KSI's KO of FaZe Temperrr? Let us know in the comments section below.

"I’m not a dishonest person, I tell the truth, and when I was telling people I’m better than the majority of people in this space, I’m now proving that. I believe it and I just need to keep showing it. I said I wanted a KO, I said I wanted in round one and here we are baby. I want you guys to understand the levels. Look at what Swarmz did to Ryan Taylor.

"Look at what (Luis Alcaraz) Pineda did to that other guy, who I don't know his name. And look at what I did to Temperrr. I'm on a different level and we're going again! I'm hungry, ladies and gentlemen. Joe Fournier, I want a piece of that!"

KSI added: "Woodley, I want a piece of that. Slim (Albaher) - whoever it is, I'll destroy. I need to be tested. I more tests before I reach the final level... Jake m*********ing Paul."
