Kristin Cavallari says she 'consistently' goes to therapy with Jay Cutler

Nov. 05--As she prepares to give birth to her third child, Kristin Cavallari reflected on the personalities of her two sons and her marriage to Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, which she said benefits from regular therapy sessions.

"I'm not ashamed to say that Jay and I consistently go to therapy, because it's been extremely beneficial for our relationship. For example, when you're fighting you should never place blame on your partner by saying, 'you do this' or 'you do that.' You should say how those actions make you feel. It goes a long way," Cavallari told American Baby magazine in an article posted online Thursday.

Cavallari, who appears on the cover of the December/January issue of the magazine showing off her baby bump while sitting in an office chair, is due to give birth to a girl this month. Cavallari and Cutler married in 2013 and have two boys: Camden, 3, and Jaxon, about 18 months.

"My two boys are opposites. Camden was such an easy baby. Jaxon is more of our rebel wild child, but he's also a mama's boy," Cavallari said. "Our little girl will have her own personality. I know I can't change who they are. It's important to let kids be themselves and to let them make mistakes. Self-discovery goes a long way."

Cavallari said she and Cutler initially thought their third child would be a boy based on their own reading of a 3-D ultrasound but learned the baby would be a girl after a blood test.

"She's going to steal Jay's heart, which will in turn melt mine!" Cavallari said. "I'm excited for the boys to grow up with a sister. I think it will help them to better understand and respect women."

Cavallari also reiterated that she and Cutler plan to move to Nashville when Cutler retires from football. The Bears announced in January 2014 that they signed Cutler to a seven-year contract.

"Jay went to school (in Nashville), and I fell in love with it the first time I went," Cavallari said. "It's beautiful, and the people are genuinely nice."

Cavallari told Elle magazine earlier this year that she wants to move to Nashville, in part, because "Chicago's just not home." Cutler later said the comments were taken out of context.
