KPK measures to restore confidence of Pak minorities

AMRITSAR: To restore the confidence among minority Hindu and Sikh communities of Pakistan, Mahmood Khan, chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province of Pakistan, announced various measures for the welfare and security of the minority communities. The KPK government on Friday celebrated ‘Pragat Diwas’ of Bhagwan Valmiki at Kohat and announced to give Pakistani Rs 5 million for the construction of Valmiki Temple, informed Ikram Khatana, regional head (digital media), KPK government.

He said special assistant to CM for minority affairs Wazirzada attended the function along with Sikh and Hindu members of provincial assembly Ranjit Singh and Ravi Kumar, respectively. He said Wazirzada informed that the KPK government had increased the quota for minorities by 5% and for the first time, Rs 200 million had been allocated for scholarships.
