A robber who threatened a shopworker with a knife has been jailed for 10 years.
Michael Lee Gilworth 33, left staff "frightened and distressed" following two raids at a convenience store in Tameside.
They both occurred at the McColls store on Astley Street in Dukinfield where police said Gilworth had "persistently targeted staff."
The first incident happened on September 5 this year, when Gilworth jumped over the counter and stole numerous bottles of spirits before making off.
Then the following day, he returned and produced a knife which he used to threaten a female member of who was working alone Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
He stole cigarettes and the till before fleeing.
He was detained Gilworth in a nearby estate after a brief foot chase.
Gilworth, of Mount Street, Hyde was today sentenced to 10 years behind bars for burglary and robbery at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court.
DC Holmes from CID on the Tameside Division said: "These were violent and unprovoked attacks on shop staff during the course of their working day one of which was committed with the use of a bladed article which has left staff understandably frightened and distressed both in the long term and the short term.
"This conviction is a result of great team work between CID, Response and CSI / forensic officers.
"The lengthy sentence is indicative of the appalling and violent nature of the offences."
