KLM reveal when Leeds Bradford Airport will resume Amsterdam flights

International airline KLM has revealed when it will resume its daily service between Leeds Bradford Airport and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

Practically all flights with big airlines ceased in March as the coronavirus pandemic gripped the globe and put a halt to international travel.

However, the 'Cityhopper' service between Leeds and Amsterdam will resume a daily schedule from Saturday, July 4 with a maximum capacity of 100 passengers on each flight.

The announcement comes hot on the heels of Jet2 telling its customers that flights and holidays will resume until Wednesday, July 1. The Leeds-based airline had originally anticipated a return of some holidays today (Wednesday).

Joanna Wild, chief commercial officer for Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “We’re extremely pleased to be supporting KLM in recommencing its flights to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport next month. This is an important and popular route for LBA, as passengers are able to access 165 KLM destinations worldwide via Amsterdam.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming travellers and holidaymakers at our airport in the coming months, and we’re working closely with KLM, as well as other industry partners, to ensure the wellbeing of all staff and passengers.”

KLM have introduced a number of new safety features onboard all flights to try and minimise to risk of contracting Covid-19.

Passengers must wear face masks for the duration of their flight, meals services have been suspended on domestic and short haul flights, and the the air in the cabin is renewed every three minutes.
