Kirkcudbright's classic car rally attracts hundreds of enthusiasts to the Artists' Town

Enthusiasts flocked to Kirkcudbright on Sunday for the return of the town’s classic car rally.

Organised by Lesley Garbutt and Alistair Gordon, it saw hundreds of vehicles taking part with the crowds keen to get a glimpse of the gleaming machinery.

The winner was Dolly Pemberton with her Austin A30.

The farmers market and the vintage fair, as well as the Rotary Club duck race, ensured there was plenty going on.

Kirkcudbright Summer Festivities chairman John Blaikie said: “I’ve never seen the town so busy, it was a sea of people wherever you looked.

“The farmers’ market was really busy again and the vintage fair was in the town hall as well - there was so many things for people to do.”
