Kirkcudbright Choral Society set for traditional carol concert

After a break because of the Covid lockdown, the Kirkcudbright Choral Society will be back in Kirkcudbright Parish Church on Sunday at 7.30pm for its traditional carol concert, The Story of Christmas with Carols Old and New.

Its new conductor, Gatehouse musician Helen Keating, will be joined by treble soloist Fraser Dunnett, flautist Heather MacEanruig, accompanist Susan Smyth and organist Geoff Keating.

The audience will be able to join in the well-loved traditional carols and hear some unusual ones, including one arranged originally for the Kings Singers by the organist.

The singers staged a practice mini-concert at Kirkcudbright Galleries, pictured below, on December 3 as a warm up for the big event.

Tickets £10 (students free) include refreshments and are available from Thomson’s Newsagents, Choral Society members or at the door.
