King's Park police incident: Glasgow schoolboy stabbed and in serious condition

A schoolboy is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed in King's Park.

Part of the south side park remains cordoned off this evening following the incident which took place shortly after 3.30pm.

Police say the 14-year-old boy was discovered to be 'seriously injured after an altercation with a group of youths'.

He's currently being treated at Glasgow's Royal Hospital for Children.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed: "Around 3.40pm on Friday, 12 February, police were called to a report of a 14-year-old boy found seriously injured following an altercation with a group of youths in King's Park.

"Emergency services attended and the victim was taken the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow for treatment to stab wounds.

"Medical staff describe his condition as serious but stable.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 2036 of Friday, 12 February, 2021.

"Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
