SONGKHLA: A 3.2-metre king cobra was found in a house in Nathawi district of this southern province on Sunday.
Workers from the Ariyo Foundation, which provides emergency and rescue services in the district, caught the snake after house owner Worawan Arsanok, 45, called the foundation on Sunday morning, saying she had just seen a huge snake hiding in the ceiling of her house at Ban Thung Lang in tambon Sathon.
Armed with snake-trapping equipment, the foundation workers managed to catch the reptile shortly after their arrival. The snake measured 3.20 metres from head to tail. The king cobra is one of the most venomous snakes; one bite can kill an elephant.
The snake was later released into the wild -- far from residential areas.
