A soft Beagle has had her dog bed stolen by a greedy cat called Brian.
It all started when their owner discovered Brian loved to steal Betty the Beagle’s bed, so she bought them new ones, think that would be the end of it.
But it didn't quite go to plan, TeamDogs reports.
The family cat quickly decided the bigger bed was comfier and proceeded to claim it as his own.
Betty has since surrendered to the smaller cat bed.
Amelia Cowburn, from Manchester, says the cat has loves her rescue dog, who is a lovable, soft pup considering her traumatic past.
But she just can’t tell him to stop bed hogging.
If Betty is extra unlucky, the other cat, Sybil, will claim the other bed, leaving poor Betty without an option.
Amelia, 30, said: “I thought I’d solve it by getting Brian his own mini version but he’s just a bed hogger. I think Betty has given up. She’s so easy going that she will lie on the carpet.”
Nine-year-old Betty has no time to fight for her space. When Brian rubs her face in it, the Beagle stands there looking for help while giving him the side-eye.
“She’s so placid, I think she goes in the small bed for an easy life,” Amelia said.
“Although if Betty fancies stealing someone’s human chair she just stares at them or waits for them to get up and steals it. ‘On your feet, lose your seat’ in this house.”
Despite this Amelia says the pair do get on really.
Amelia rescued Betty from Dogs Trust in Manchester four years ago.
She added: “Betty had to learn to be a dog at the age of five. Dogs Trust took in loads of laboratory Beagles and the Manchester branch had about 10 of them. They take a lot of time and patience so all across the country these charities had all these messed up dogs and rehomed them all.
"They would have just been put to sleep otherwise. But instead, four years later, we have this gorgeous, loving dog that’s too soft to shift a cat out of her bed.”
Amelia has always had rescue pets including Betty, Brian and another cat called Sybil.
