- Kim Novak has criticised the title of the forthcoming biopic Scandalous!, which recounts her clandestine 1957 love affair with Sammy Davis Jr.
- The 92-year-old actor told The Guardian that their relationship was not scandalous and said she is “concerned they’re going to make it all sexual reasons”.
- Their affair, which occurred during the Jim Crow era, ended after Columbia Pictures boss Harry Cohn allegedly threatened Davis with mob violence.
- The film, directed by Colman Domingo and starring Sydney Sweeney and David Jonsson, is described by Domingo as a “beautiful, sweet film” about love and privacy.
- Novak is to be honoured with a lifetime achievement award at the Venice Film Festival, where a documentary about her life, Kim Novak’s Vertigo, will premiere.
