Kim Kardashian supports ex Kanye West as she attends Donda album launch

Kim Kardashian and her sister Khloe were among the surprise guests at Kanye West's launch party for his latest album Donda.

The couple's six year marriage fell apart last year with Kim filing for divorce in February.

Sticking to her vow to keep things amicable, Kim joined the sold-out crowd at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta as her ex unveiled his new music to the world.

Kim also brought all four of her children with West along - North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm - so they could see their rapper dad in action.

While the mum-of-four chose not to post on Instagram about the event, her sister Khloe shared an array of snaps and video from her front row seat inside the arena.

Khloe shared a video of her brother-in-law standing in the middle of the empty arena stage as cameras from the sold out crowd flashed around him.

Kanye, 44, entered the stage without warning clad in a red puffer jacket, matching trousers and orange shoes from his Yeezy design and a brown rubber mask.

As the crowd heard for the first time his eagerly-awaited album Donda - named after his later mother - the final track drew the biggest response over a surprise collaboration with Jay-Z.

The verse from West' long-time friend and rival included a reference to a 'red cap' – a nod to West’s wearing of a Donald Trump MAGA hat.

Young Guru, a record producer and engineer who has worked with Jay-Z, revealed the verse was a last-minute addition, perhaps explaining why the launch party started almost two hours late.

He tweeted: “HOV did the verse today!!!! At 4pm.”

The state of their relationship had been a source of speculation with the pair said to have fallen out after releasing 2011 album Watch The Throne together.

As well as Jay-Z, the much-delayed Donda – it was initially promised a year ago – features contributions from hip hop stars including Pusha T, Lil Baby and Travis Scott.

West, who grew up in Chicago, Illinois, occasionally broke out into dance while pacing around the stadium during the live-streamed event.

At one point, during the track I Know God Breathed On This, West dropped to his knees.

After the final song played, West briefly stood in front of the cheering fans before walking off stage.

Her death had a profound impact on West, who named not only an album after her but also a creative content company.

Samples of his mother’s speech feature on the album.

Donda continues the biblical themes from West’s previous album, 2019’s Jesus Is King, with repeated religious references including “Jesus saved my soul”.

Donda is set for release this Friday
