She has rocked a variety of hairstyles and colours over the years – from a sleek bob to platinum blonde.
But, in a rare insight, Kim Kardashian has shown what her real hair looks like without her signature extensions.
In the latest episode of The Kardashians, the reality star's glam squad got her ready for this year's Met Gala – having already dyed her hair platinum blonde in homage to Marilyn Monroe's dress.
Kim famously turned up to the Met in Marilyn's iconic Happy Birthday, Mr President dress, having lost 16lbs to fit into the striking nude figure-hugging gown which the actress wore in 1962.
The unedited footage showed the businesswoman's real shoulder length hair which looked very fine after 14 hours in the chair bleaching her naturally dark locks.
Kim went on to wear her hair slicked back for the New York gala to ensure all eyes were on her show-stopping gown as she walked the red carpet alongside her then boyfriend Pete Davidson.
Fans soon took to Reddit to comment on her look after seeing her without extensions for the first time in months as she's been sporting a long platinum wig of late.
"Kim’s natural hair length-why don’t we ever see it?", one asked.
Another fan wrote: "This hair colour/wig has got to go".
"You’re stunning but, you’re even more beautiful with dark hair. Also wish you and Pete didn’t break up. You looked so happy," another said.
"Loose the straw hair", a different viewer typed.
The figure-hugging Jean Louis gown has more than 6,000 crystals adorned on it and Kardashian admitted to Vogue on the red carpet at the event that she lost 16 pounds in order to fit into the outfit.
Monroe was believed to be sewn into the dress prior to her performance to Mr Kennedy at a fundraiser held at Madison Square Garden on May 19, 1962. She died less than three months later at the age of 36.
Kim revealed she lost 16 pounds to fit into the gown and spent 14 hours dyeing her hair platinum blonde to match Marilyn's.
"I had this idea to try it on and then they came with armed guards and gloves," she told Vogue on the event’s red carpet.
"I always thought she was extremely curvy. I imagined I might be smaller in some places where she was bigger and bigger in places where she was smaller. So, when it didn’t fit me, I wanted to cry because it can’t be altered at all.
"I tried it on and it didn’t fit me. I said, 'Give me three weeks.' I had to lose 16 pounds."
