Kilmarnock will get "hungry" player when Kyle Connell returns, says Airdrie boss Ian Murray

Airdrie boss Ian Murray says Kilmarnock will be getting a "hungry" player back when goal hero Kyle Connell returns in January.

The 19-year-old striker joined on a short-term loan from the Premiership side in October and has scored three times, including a priceless winner at Falkirk on Sunday.

Murray says he sees a player that will be pushing for a starting place at Rugby Park when he returns.

He said: “Kyle’s done really well.

“He has come into our team and scored a few goals, and that’s another scrappy goal.

"That’s his third goal and two of them have been fairly scrappy, typical striker finishes, but that is such a dying trade and a dying art now.

“Kyle is only 19 years old, has only played four or five league matches, he’s getting a little taste for it now and getting a little thirst and hunger for competitive football.

“We have a wee chance here to have a really good player on our hands who will definitely, in my opinion from what I’ve seen, go back to Kilmarnock a better player and ready to push.”
