Celtic began talks to seal Kieran Tierney's long-awaited return in January, the defender has revealed.
Tierney came through the academy ranks at Parkhead before moving to Arsenal for £25 million in 2019.
After a productive spell in the English capital during which he won an FA Cup and two Community Shields, Tierney rejoined his boyhood club this summer, penning a five-year deal.
He returns on a free transfer, and when Celtic knew he wouldn't be signing on at Arsenal in January gone by, they moved quickly, even though the left-back wouldn't come home for another few months.

“It was probably the easiest signing Celtic have made, and the easiest decision I’ve had to make," said Tierney.
"Talks started in January, but once it wasn’t possible then, it was always going to be summer."
The 28-year-old touched on the influence of Brendan Rodgers in the deal: "He played a huge part, but ultimately, as well, it's Celtic," he said.
"I’ve loved playing under the gaffer. I've played so many games under him. I was so successful, so happy. And people like John Kennedy, who I’ve kept in touch with.
"You do miss it when you’re away, the fans, the atmosphere, the people. Now that I’m back, I want to enjoy every moment."
Tierney could make his first appearance of his second spell at Celtic Park this afternoon as Newcastle United visit for a friendly.
