Kieran Tierney among Arsenal stars set for training return as club set out strict rules

Arsenal's first-team stars are set for a return to training under strict rules.

The Gunners have confirmed a plan to bring players back to their London Colney base for individual sessions from Monday.

It's a tentative step towards normality as the prospect of closed door Premier League action edges closer.

Scotland's Kieran Tierney is expected to be among those returning, the conditions of which Arsenal insist will involve strict social distancing.

The club have taken the step after four players - Granit Xhaka, Nicolas Pepe, David Luiz and Alexandre Lacazette - were admonished for breaking social distancing rules this week.

A club spokesperson said: “Players will be permitted access to our London Colney training grounds next week.

"Access will be limited, carefully managed and social distancing will be maintained at all times.

"All Colney buildings remain closed. Players will travel alone, do their individual workout and return home.”

The facility was shut 44 days ago after manager Mikel Arteta's positive coronavirus test catalysed English football into shutting down.
