KFC issues stern warning to people ordering food via drive thru and takeaway

KFC has now opened up hundreds of its branches in the UK, and people have flocked to get their hands on the iconic fried chicken.

Some people have queued for hours at drive-thrus due to huge demand, but shoppers have soldiered through to get their chicken fix.

However, KFC has now been forced to issue a stern warning to people ordering its food, after pictures of the brand's packaging littering the streets caused upset on social media.

In a message to fans, KFC wrote on Twitter: "Don't be a tosser.

"Fried chicken fans, we've missed you. A lot. And we know you've missed us too. We saw those homemade attempts and they really made us smile.

"But something that doesn't make us smile is people spoiling our communities and wrecking the environment.

"Yup, litter. So that's why we're asking you, with love, not to be a tosser."

It continued: "Our team members are on the case carrying out regular litter picks around restaurants. So when we still see photos online of KFC litter on UK and Irish streets, we really do throw our wings up in despair.

"Being a good neighbour matters - so we just want to encourage you to take your litter home with you, or toss it in the bin."

KFC ended the message: "With great chicken comes great responsibility. Let's all do our bit."
