Key Hearts vs Rangers incidents analysed by Dermot Gallagher as part of Ref Watch segment

Former English Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher has delivered his verdict on two key Hearts talking points against Rangers.

Cammy Devlin was handed his marching orders in the first half for a challenge on Rabbi Matondo before Rangers were also denied a goal through Scott Arfield with the referee awarding a foul on Craig Gordon.

Both incidents were put under the microscope as part of the Sky Sports Ref Watch segment. Gallagher believes Devlin can have no complaints about receiving his marching orders during the four goal defeat to Giovanni van Bronckhorst's men. Antonio Colak struck a double with Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent also on target in Gorgie.

After looking at the red card challenge, Gallagher said: "He comes from all that distance to stamp in on the player. He was always going to get a red card. I don't know why he did that".

Arfield then had a goal chopped off later on in the match, but the former official reckons Scotland No1 Gordon couldn't have too many complaints had the strike stood in the capital.

He continued: "Well Craig Gordon will say that he's fouled, he's gone to punch the ball and he's collided with a player.

"It's inevitable there will be a collision. If the referee had given a goal then I don't think Craig Gordon could have argued too much."
