Key forwards Pat Carrigan and Payne Haas are on track to return from injury for Brisbane against South Sydney in a huge boost for the Broncos ahead of the blockbuster showdown at Sunshine Coast Stadium.
Queensland lock Carrigan (calf tightness) was rested from Saturday's 44-24 win over Canterbury, while NSW prop Haas (ankle tendon inflammation) has been on the sidelines since round 18.
Maroons forward Tom Flegler, out of action since round 17, still has to get through the week as he rehabilitates from a foot injury.
"Patty is on track to play against Souths and Payne will be fine," Walters told AAP ahead of Friday night's clash.
"Flegler we will have to monitor. We will see how the week goes because he is not over the line just yet."
Carrigan and Flegler were put through their paces at the Broncos' Red Hill training base on Monday morning ahead of the team going into camp at Twin Waters on the Sunshine Coast.
Carrigan had a compression bandage on his right calf and was running freely under the guidance of Broncos performance staff.
The 25-year-old was seen sprinting for 10 metres during drills in which he deliberately pulled up suddenly to test the calf under duress.
Flegler was doing his own drills and moved without any obvious discomfort.
Walters told AAP there were no concerns over the fitness of Adam Reynolds ahead of the clash with the star halfback's former club.
Reynolds was seen holding his wrist before leaving the field in the 70th minute against the Bulldogs after putting on a masterclass display.
"He just got a bump on the wrist so we took him off to rest him up for this week. Adam will be fine," Walters said.
The Broncos will also welcome the return from suspension of fullback Reece Walsh against the Rabbitohs.
The NRL granted the Broncos request that Walsh be able to include game three of the State of Origin series as part of his suspension for contrary conduct in the round-17 clash with the Titans.
The Broncos are in second place on the ladder, while the Rabbitohs - eighth on 24 points - must quickly return to winning ways if they are to challenge for the top four.
