Kevin Nisbet seals £2m Hibs transfer as striker finally says yes to Millwall after January knock back

Millwall have secured a £2 million deal for Hibs striker Kevin Nisbet.

The Scotland ace is set to be unveiled at the New Den after agreeing a 3-year contract with the Lions, which has a further one year option. Nisbet has completed his medical in London and Record Sport has learned he will soon be confirmed as the Championship club's latest signing. The 26-year-old pulled out of a deal to join MIllwall in January after a transfer fee had been agreed between the two clubs. Nisbet didn't feel the time was right to leave Easter Road.

But Lions gaffer Gary Rowett continued to pursue the striker who scored 12 goals for Lee Johnson's side this season. And he's finally got his man with Nisbet signing for an initial £2 million, with future add-ons. The former Dunfermline hitman was entering the final year of his contract in Leith and Lee Johnson had previously admitted that it was likely he'd be moving on this summer rather than going for free in a year's time.

Nisbet's medical went without a hitch, despite suffering a serious knee injury last year, and he'll now rejoin the Scotland squad ahead of the upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Norway and Georgia. Hibs' focus will be on finding a replacement for their top man.
