Kevin De Bruyne praises 'unbelievable' Man City teammate Bernardo Silva

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has called Bernardo Silva's understanding of the game "unbelievable".

The City pair have already won one trophy together this season and will hope to add two more by lifting the FA Cup and Champions League next month. Silva's brace against Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final sent City on their way to the Istanbul showdown against Inter Milan.

But there is so much more to Bernardo's game than just goals. He is one of Pep Guardiola's most trusted players, as proven by the variety of roles he is asked to carry out for City.

And De Bruyne summed up the Portugal international's talent while filming a recent video with City's in-house media team. The Belgian took part in a game that involved De Bruyne recalling who assisted some of his goals in City colours. One of those was provided by Bernardo away at Wolves when De Bruyne put in a stunning individual display and netted four goals himself.

When told that was one of Bernardo's six assists for him overall, the Belgian commented: "Bernardo is so smart, isn’t he? His understanding of the football game is unbelievable. He plays about 19 different positions, even though there’s only 11 available. He is so, so good.”

Silva's future at the Etihad Stadium will once again be the subject of speculation this summer. Paris Saint-Germain are the latest European giants to be linked with City's maestro, who has openly discussed his future before and admitted that he would be open to exploring new opportunities.

As well as PSG, there have been rumours of a move to Barcelona - whom Bernardo was linked extensively with last summer. The 28-year-old is contracted at City until the summer of 2025.
