KOTTAYAM: A man was killed after being hit on the head with an iron rod by his younger brother following an altercation in Ambalappuzha in Alappuzha on Saturday. Police arrested Bicy, 42, in connection with the murder of Santhosh, 46. The brothers are residents of Ambalappuzha Thekku panchayat.
Santhosh was working in a shrimp peeling unit while Bicy was a fisherman. According to neighbours, the brothers fought each other every day after getting drunk. For this reason, their wives were not staying with them for years.
On Saturday, the brothers fought. Residents noticed Bicy standing in a secluded house. They found Santosh lying dead when they went there. Though Bicy remained near the body, he tried to run away when the police came. Police chased and arrested him.
