Kerala logs over 2,000 Covid-19 cases for fourth consecutive day

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state reported 2,471 new Covid-19 cases on Friday. This is the fourth consecutive day that the state is witnessing over 2,000 cases.

Ernakulam with 750 reported the highest number of cases on the day, followed by Thiruvananthapuram (356), Kottayam (296) and Kozhikode (251).

The active cases in the state have become 12,438 and the total number of deaths reported due to Covid-19 has now climbed to 69,830.

The highest number of active cases are in Ernakulam — 4,087, followed by Thiruvananthapuram (2,371), Kottayam (1,389) and Kozhikode (1,149).

In the last ten days, the state has witnessed 17,884 positive cases, and 83 deaths have been confirmed as due to Covid-19.

The total cases reported till date ever since the pandemic was reported in the state has become 65,76,137.
