Kensington Palace teases 'special duet' on piano ahead of Kate's Christmas carol concert

A “special duet” on the piano has been teased by Kensington Palace before Princess Kate's Christmas carol concert.

The Palace posted a teaser clip before the concert, which will air on ITV tonight, of two hands resting on a piano.

The clip is simply captioned “a special duet...” with a pink love heart emoji.

One hand is wearing a large ring with a bangle on the wrist, while the other person is simply wearing a bracelet.

This teaser was posted on the Kensington Palace X account earlier today (Prince and Princess of Wales / X) (Prince and Princess of Wales / X)

Some fans suspect Kate might be performing with her ten-year-old daughter, Charlotte, as one fan responded: “Catherine and Charlotte?”

It’s the second teaser the account has posted today, with a picture of a piano being posted earlier today, alongside a piano and music note emoji.

The account added: “Watch Royal Carols: Together at Christmas tonight at 7.25pm on @ITV and @ITVX”

The service, hosted by the Princess of Wales, was filmed on December 5 at Westminster Abbey.

The theme of this year’s service was the power of love and togetherness.

Actors Hannah Waddingham, Kate Winslet and Chiwetel Ejiofor gave readings while carols were sung by the Westminster Abbey choir, alongside musical performances.

The power of love theme was picked because in a world that can often feel fragmented and disconnected, the service was intended to bring people together to celebrate love in all its forms, organisers say.

This could be love within families, through friendships, across communities or even through moments of connection with strangers.

Guests at Westminster Abbey were nominated by lord-lieutenants across the UK and charities linked with members of the royal family and also include people who have been invited after having shown love and kindness this year.

They were greeted by a festive display created by horticulturist Jamie Butterworth based on the importance of nature in our lives while the Royal Horticultural Society is set to donate wreaths made by their ambassadors and schoolchildren.

Some 15 community carol services, held in places including the Coronation Street Visitor Centre, an arts centre in Newbury and a community farm in Gwent, also took place across the UK with the same love and togetherness theme.
