Kendal Calling 2023 line up revealed with Blossoms and Kasabian headlining

Blossoms and Kasabian will headline Kendal Calling 2023, it has been confirmed this morning. In an announcement spanning over 100 acts, it was also confirmed that Royal Blood and Nile Rogers & CHIC will lead the charge as the festival's headline acts.

The live music festival in the shadows of Lake District fells and set in Lowther Deer Park is a family friendly, four-day event spanning several stages, and takes place from 27-30 July 2023. Building on last year's belated 15th anniversary edition, which was delayed due due to the pandemic, there is expected to be a huge demand for tickets, with 20,000 pre-sale signs ups already recorded.

As well as a debut headline sets from Mercury Prize-nominated duo Royal Blood and Stockport favourites Blossoms, festival-goers will be treated to Kasabian, fronted by Serge Pizzorno, and Nile Rogers & CHIC's antipcated return as they take to the Kendall Calling main stage. Nile Rodgers said: "The last time we played Kendall Calling was epic and one of my favourite shows ever. We are excited to be back this year for more good times!”

They'll be joined by Circa Waves, Beabadoobee, The Enemy, The Amazons, Sheffield rockers Reverend & The Makers, The Hunna and Ireland's post-punk favourites, The Murder Capital.

As one of the biggest podcasts in the UK, Kendal Calling will also welcome JaackMaate's Happy Hour Live on what will be their first-ever festival booking. They join the line-up, as do Scottish alt-rockers, Vistas, internationally-acclaimed actor, but also musician and frontman, Kiefer Sutherland and his band, plus American duo We Are Scientists and Charlatans’ frontman Tim Burgess, who returns with a solo performance, whilst also bringing back the much-loved Tim Peaks Diner.

Royal Blood will headline (Kendal Calling)

Commenting on the announcement, Tim Burgess said: “Kendal Calling has always been a favourite of The Charlatans - and even more so as Tim Peaks has been there since 2012 and I’ve felt like part of the family. Looking forward to heading back there in July, got me a solo gig, some listening parties, a DJ set and maybe a couple of surprises too.”

Some of the biggest names in UK dance will also take to the stage including dance music royalty Annie Mac along with producer, rapper, DJ and singer Mile Skinner, plus Paul Woolford, DJ Yoda, Bklava and Krafty Kuts B2B A.Skillz and Jaguar Skills.

Returning this year, Kids Calling is back with even more action-packed fun for everyone - from live theatre shows to giant inflatables, there's plenty to keep children entertained too. The festival's theme is yet to be revealed, but the Saturday parade will also be back, featuring some of the region's very best carnival performers.
